Col de la Leisse

New day, new destination ( and new weather conditions)
No, this is not New Zealand, just a few sheep grazing above the Val Claret (east end of Tignes) and this is where the trails begins.
After a little more than an hour of climbing, the scenery changes...
... with less grass and more rocks as the trail reaches the col, final destination for today.
And here it is! 2758m is about 9050 feet, and it's cold and windy.
But it's also a place from where we can look at the south side of the Glacier of the Grande Motte. The snow has melted quite a bit, however people still ski up there.
From the col: looking west,
and east.
Who's that?!!
Clouds are gone so here's a better view:
But something tells me it's time to head home...
Finally back in Tignes clouds don't look that ominous anymore.
